Exhibits Within The Foundation Buildings
The foundations museum has a diverse collection of vehicles on exhibit within the vintage barns. With the foundations collection of restored Chevrolets, 1933 Ford Model 40's and Derham bodied Duesenbergs, there is certainly a lot to see. However, the depth of the collection goes way beyond the cars. Smaller artifacts within the foundations museum buildings not only link the automobiles on display to that era, but also to Minnesota's rich automobile history and the car clubs in our surrounding communities that drive the passion for these cars.
Long Hay Barn Showroom
The Long Hay Barn building displays the foundations Tri-Five Chevrolet collection and roughly seventy of our nearly two hundred rare and unusual gas pumps that line the buildings. Developed by Ed Cole and his engineering team, Tri Five Chevrolets are some of the most popular years of Chevrolets with collectors and hot rodders alike. At 4,000 square feet, this building also shares much of our gas pump plate collection, advertisements from Coca Cola and artist prints from Dale Klee and Les Kouba.
Round Barn Showroom
The Round Barn building is modeled after a round barn located on the historic Route 66. The Round Barn, contains our collection of 1933 Ford Model 40's. That collection includes the car that started it all. The original prototype 1932 Ford Model Y that E.T. “Bob” Gregorie designed and later used to develop the 1933 Model 40’s from. Along with the beautifully restored Model 40’s this 6,200 square foot building contains, vintage neon’s from local dealerships in Minnesota, over fifty restored vintage gas pumps, restored pop coolers, and an extensive oil can collection.
Dairy Barn Showroom
The Dairy Barn building is modeled after a gothic dairy barn with the swooping gable ends. Built with new and recycled materials from all over the country, this building is our newest building on campus and is 21,000 square feet. The Dairy Barn building houses a variety of vehicle brands and styles along with the majority of our pedal car and scooter collection. The building displays vehicles from Chevrolet all the way to exclusive automobiles such as our Duesenberg Model J's. This building also shares the majority of our vintage sign collection, clock collection and over twenty vintage gas pumps.
