Located on a 500 acre campus an hour outside of Minneapolis just South of Monticello, MN off of I94 the museum is conveniently located in the heart of MN. For those traveling to see us with large groups, we are close Monticello or Buffalo for dozens of food, fuel and lodging options. For larger groups it is wise to call ahead to restaurants and make reservations.
Cost to Visit the Museum: The museum is FREE to guests! Although, many of our patrons donate at the door to help us keep the museum going.
Large Groups: Group tours are available. All group tours are done outside of the museums regular hours. We are a small staff working in big buildings. All group tours are required to be scheduled ahead of time. This will also allow you to have the museum to yourselves for your event. Call to schedule your event with our staff today! We have onsite parking for larger group tours with enough parking to comfortably host up to 50 cars.
Museum Hours: We are open for tours May-October on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-3pm. NOTE: We are closed all major holidays every year no exception.
Driving Directions: From I94 In Monticello, MN - Drive South on Hwy 25 towards Buffalo, MN take a right onto County Road 106 also known as 80th street. Follow this Westward around the beautiful chain of lakes that surround us. Around 4.5 miles you will see the white picket fence that will lead you to the campus. The museum entrance will be on your right hand side. Enter onto Hot Rod Alley and follow this almost a mile until you see the museum buildings.
